Week two of club rugby is in the books with some mixed results for Marist St Pats in a round where our teams were scattered around Wellington.
In their Swindale Shield match a reshuffled Premier Men line up saw off Paremata-Plimmerton at Ngati Toa Domain. They got on the scoreboard in the first two minutes with the first of three tries to second five Ofa Siale. With Rez Tasele and Ryan Setefano were the other first half try scorers and the side held a 34-14 lead at the break.
They started the second half strongly with Tasele bringing up a hatrick of his own in the second minute of the half. Coming off the bench Isaia Petelo picked off a classic inside ball from evergreen Fa'atonu Fili later on to seal the match at 46-14.
Earlier in the day our Premier Women had their first home game, falling to heavyweights Northern United by 10-42. Our Premier 2 side also took on Norths, at Jerry Collins Stadium, but couldn't get a win either and went down by 5-38.
In the winners column, our Colts had their first proper hit out after winning their first round fixture by default. They went out to Maidstone Park and earned a convincing 34-17 win over the Rams.
The Under 85s went out to Ian Galloway Park where they got their first win of the season, beating Wests by 44-28. While the Presidents continued their winning ways, making it two-from-two with a 29-19 win over Johnsonville at Helston Park.
