A message from your Chairman

Dear all members and supporters of Marist St. Pats RFC.

On Saturday 21st March, the Management Committee met to discuss the current issues surrounding COVID 19 and its impact on our club. While community sport is currently on hold until April, it is likely there will be very little or no community sport at all this winter. This is the worst-case scenario that we are planning for, so we are prepared and ahead of this ever-evolving threat.

A range of initiatives were discussed and am I heartened by the commitment and support of our hard-working people to make the necessary changes to ensure MSP emerges from this as a continued force in Wellington Rugby and in our wider community.

With no rugby to play and the social distancing restrictions imposed by the Government, there is no opportunity for engagement with one another on the side-lines or at the clubrooms. Regretfully our 50th anniversary celebrations have also been postponed. However, the club still faces significant challenges to meet some of the committed and ongoing operational costs. Many of these costs will be reduced or removed but some items are simply necessary to remain "in business" and to ensure we are prepared for the return of our great game.

Subscriptions and sponsorships are greatly appreciated and are critical to our financial health, but they only form a part of our overall income stream. Trust funding from gaming is another important source of income and with the current restrictions and potentially bans on visiting these outlets, Trust funds will simply evaporate.

We appreciate you will all have your own personal and business challenges at this time, but we hope that remaining a financial member of MSP during these tough times will be a rewarding experience in the better times when the surely they will return. We hope that it is something that makes you proud to be a member of MSP.

Below are the details if you wish to kindly continue your support of MSP in 2020. We do not wish to impose on you, and we accept that for some, subscriptions and donations may not be a priority at this time. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Payment

You can pay your sub and make a donation by:

  • Internet banking: The club's bank account no. is ANZ 01 - 0505 - 0298113 - 00. Please include your name with the payment. If you've changed your postal address in the past year, please email it to mspboardsec@gmail.com so we can send out your membership card.

  • Cheque: Post a cheque to Marist St Pats, PO Box 3472, Wellington 6140. Please include your name and address so we can post out your membership card.

  • Online membership: Go to the 'Join' page on the MSP website and complete the online registration form. That will give us your full contact details, and you can pay your sub through internet banking (details above).
