Bonus point wins over Johnsonville
Our Premier and Premier Reserve sides have beaten Johnsonville and earned four try bonus points along the way.
While the early game was a very high scoring affair, the feature match on Evans Bay Park was a stop/start affair, never reaching great heights. Johnsonville played hard the whole game and pushed our side hard, but in the end two tries in each half was enough for the Red Machine to get home in Peter Sciascia's 200th Premier game.
Earlier in the day, over the road on Kilbirnie Park, our Women's team got their season off to a strong start beating Poneke. They also scored four tries to earn a bonus point.
