Local preseason games wrap up
Our Senior mens squads completed their final local preseason fixture at Tawa on Saturday ahead of this weekend's Spillane Cup.
Played in bright, sunny conditions at Lyndhurst Park the two clubs played six 20 minute periods with interchangeable teams in each. Score wasn't kept but the number of tries scored was fairly even.
The coaches will have gained valuable insight into how their game structures are working in real contact situations and will have some selection headaches with the depth across the squad a noticeable feature.
The teams head to Palmerston North on Saturday along with the Colts and Women's teams for the annual New Zealand Marist preseason tournament, the Spillane Cup.
