Marist St Pats is excited to announce the creation of a new management position, the Director of Rugby. We are equally excited to announce that John Bell has been appointed in this role.
The Director of Rugby will work with our Rugby Development Officer, Kas Lealamanua, and they will be responsible for the recruitment, development and management of players and coaches at the Club.
Long time club member John Bell has accepted this role following his return to Wellington where he works in recruitment after an extended period living in Sydney.
The St Patrick's College Old Boy has a strong rugby pedigree which included playing Premier rugby for Marist St Pats in the early 1990s and coaching highly successful teams at the Club later in the decade. His Colts team won their grade in 1998 while his Senior 2 team (2002) and Senior 1 team (2003) won their respective first round competitions.
John can't wait to get stuck in as he sees the club in an exciting time with some great talent both on the field and in the coaching ranks. He will start in this position effective immediately as the focus on recruitment for 2017 heats up.
Further announcements on coaching appointments will be made in the coming days.
