Sevens team takes out Plate trophy
MSP's sevens team ran away with the Plate section of the Ulalei tournament at Evans Bay after a tough first day on 28 January.
The team won the Plate final 44-7 on Sunday, after three hard games the day before. In one, they went down only narrowly to the Wellington sevens rep team.
Coach Bevan Packer says the tournament, in which Isaac O'Connor featured, was a great build-up to the big NZ Marist sevens tournament at Evans Bay later in the week. The side is well led by Sio Tuia and Ryan Setefano, and has good balance with MSP newcomers Andrew Wells from Wellington College and Aviato Silago from St Pats Silverstream.
