Aaron scoops first 'Beat the Budgie' prize

Reserve Internationals front rower Aaron 'Boozer' Bouzaid (below left) is the inaugural winner of the Beat the Budgie competition drawn at the clubrooms on 5 May.

Aaron BouzaidBoozer scooped the $500 prize donated by life member Paul 'Budgie' Jacobsen (right) when his membership number was drawn from the bag. Boozer's thirsty teammates were on hand to share his winnings as he became MSP's version of Trevor the Lotto winner from Te Kauwhata.

Next week the prize reverts to $100. A draw will take place every week but the winner must be a paid-up club member and must be at the clubrooms to get their hands on Budgie's money. If the winner is not present, the prize will jackpot up to a $1000 limit until someone wins.

Note that just because you get the Red Machine e-newsletter doesn't automatically mean you are a member. You must be a paid-up member (playing or non-playing) and have a membership card with the 'Beat the Budgie' motif on it. If you haven't yet paid, you can do so either by:

  • Internet banking. The club's bank account no. is ANZ 010505 - 0298113 - 00
    (please include your name with the payment), or
  • Posting a cheque to Marist St Pats RFC, PO Box 3472, Wellington 6140.

So, pay your subs and get up to the clubrooms every Saturday to 'Beat the Budgie'!
