Our Premier Men, Women and Premier Reserves were all handed tough losses on the road on Easter Saturday.
Our Colts side however had a good win over the Axemen on Thursday night, winning their grading game by 55-5.
In the Swindale Shield, our side struggled to adapt to the new tackle guidelines and were on the end of a high penalty count in the first half. With little territory and possession they quickly found themselves down 0-12.
An intercept try to Tuga Mativa kept them in the hunt at halftime, trailing 10-19.
The Red Machine came out of the half time break with greater intent and discipline; Iosefo Aukusitino scored in the 46th minute to bring the scores to 17-19.
The momentum had swung and the MSP attack was relentless. Andrew Wells dashed to the corner where the referee awarded a try before assistance from his assistant overruled the try.
The side couldn't capitalise on their opportunities and a late try to Tawa saw them go down 17-29.
Earlier our Premier Women went down by 17-46 to Petone and the Premier Reserves went down by 14-43 after initially leading 14-0.
We're back at Evans Bay next Saturday for Old Timers Day.
