President's Christmas Musings

Dear members and supporters,

As we approach the Christmas season, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for your support throughout the season.

2024 has been a “good” year for our club, one filled with achievement, camaraderie, and a further reinvigoration of the spirit that has always defined the Red Machine.

As we take a short break, to enjoy Christmas and some well-earned family time, I want to thank a few groups for their incredible (and on-going) contribution to our wonderful Club.

Firstly, the players, coaches and managers – the heart of the Club.

Through your hard work, commitment and dedication (across all of the grades) the Club is looking in good shape for the season ahead. It really is wonderful to have such an energised and enthusiastic group of young men and women wearing the scarlet jerseys and proudly representing Marist St Pats.

Thank you for choosing Marist St Pats.

Secondly, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to our wonderful sponsors.

Your generous support has been absolutely crucial to the club’s success. Your ongoing commitment allows us to continue to provide an environment in which young men and women can develop skills, grow in confidence, mature and achieve.

We cannot thank you enough for being an integral part of the MSP family.

Thirdly, I want to thank our army of wonderful members and supporters.

The players feel and truly appreciate your support – be it your attendance at the games, meeting you at the Clubrooms, reading your comments on our various social media platforms or just seeing how many people log in each week to review the results – your support is absolutely appreciated.

And lastly to our unbelievable Chairman and his hard working Management Committee.

I appreciate that “thanking the committee” is the correct thing to do - but that is not why I am doing it – I am thanking Lourdaiz and his team because the work that they are doing is amazing.

I have been on many committees at Marist St Pats over the years, but the 2024 committee was something quite special and the 2025 committee are looking to be even stronger.

Lourdaiz has the ability to bring everyone along with him as he tackles every challenge with enthusiasm and positivity.

I have observed this human dynamo throughout the season and have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside him and his likeminded committee.

So, as I look ahead to 2025, I am excited about building on the fantastic foundation laid this year. I am certain that our results on the field will continue to improve as we build on the collective energy, positivity, and enthusiasm shown throughout 2024.

On behalf of the Club’s management committee, I would like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

May the festive season bring you joy, rest, and time to celebrate with those you love.

Thank you once again for your incredible support. I can't wait to see what 2025 holds for us all.

Merry Christmas

John
