Marist St Pats is delighted to announce Fa'atonu Fili as our new Premier Head Coach. Fa'atonu will be joined in the coaching team by Mike Tolova'a, Lua Lokotui, Tinkah Tolova'a and Toese Leleamanua.
The appointment will see stability for the Premier Men's side with this group forming the core of Zak Feaunati's coaching group over the past few years.
For Fa'atonu, this is the next chapter in a storied career at Marist St Pats. Already the club's most capped player, he will now assume the task of building on a solid foundation built over the past few years. It may also mean his boots are finally retired!
On his appointment, Fa'atonu said 'firstly i have to acknowledge that God is faithful and his timing is perfect.'
'The team and I are really excited for the journey ahead and ready to build something that our club and the Marist community can be proud of.'
'I learned so much working with Zak that I can take on board; plus we have a wealth of knowledge in our coaching crew with Venus, Lua, Tinkah and Toese Lealamanua.'
'Also having Li'i Alaimoana back on board as RDO is a positive step forward with all the work he has done this season - while coaching the Colts was amazing.'
'The main thing for me is having good people around and implementing the core values that Marist St Pats has always been founded on. I am a proud Marist man and my roots run deep within the club so its truly a blessing and we just cant wait to get started.'
The appointment of Fa'atonu and his coaching team is a great news story for Marist St Pats as it indicates the successful growth of our coaching talent over the past few years. We wish the team all the best as they start to prepare for the 2023 season. Details of Preseason training will be shared once confirmed.
