The Marist St Pats family is saddened to share news of the passing of Bryce Tietjens. We offer the Club’s sincerest condolences to Cathryn, Meg, Drew and Will.
Marist St Pats was fortunate to have the support and presence of Bryce over many years. The up-and-coming 2007 Premier team and subsequent 2008 - 2009 Jubilee Cup winning Premier teams were managed by Bryce who doubled as MSP Club Captain in 2008.
He was also a key proponent for the introduction of Women's rugby to Marist St Pats and was always a staunch supporter of the team.
Bryce was a loyal and faithful servant of the Club over the previous two decades and has always been a consistent supporter and frequent side-line enthusiast.
Bryce, was awarded the Marist St Pats John Rennie Memorial Cup in 2007 for Outstanding Contribution by a non-office bearing club member and in 2008 was the Clubs Outstanding Club Member being awarded the WM O’Connor Memorial Cup.
We trust that the knowledge that the extended Curran-Tietjens family are in the thoughts and prayers of so many Marist St Pat’s players and supporters will be of comfort at this time.
Bryce’s Rosary will be held on Tuesday at 5pm, his Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 1pm. Both at St Patrick’s Church, Childers Terrace, Kilbirnie
