Dear

Welcome to MSP's second newsletter for 2012. A week out from the start of the club competition, there's plenty happening.

Player comings and goings

A host of new faces at the club this year will help offset the loss of four players who have each played over 100 premier games >>>

Local action on 31 March

There's a feast of local rugby on this Saturday, beginning with an under-85 rep clash between Wellington and a NZ Barbarians side at midday. One-third of the Wellington team are from MSP's champion Blues. At 1.15pm at Evans Bay, the St Pats College 1st XV is in action against Sacred Heart College from Auckland, as part of the Marist college quadrangular tournament. Out at Porirua Park, MSP's premier, senior and colts squads line up against Norths in the final pre-season games.

First competition games 7 April

The premiers take on Old Boys University at Evans Bay in the first game of the Swindale Shield round on 7 April. A week later, they're up against premier newcomers Rimutaka. Here's the full first-round draw for the premiers, senior 1s and senior 2s. Games for other MSP teams kick off on 14 April.

Toga party to mark clubrooms opening

A toga party on 14 April boasting an 'imported DJ from Ibiza (or Newtown)' will mark the official opening of the clubrooms for 2012. The shared event with St Mary's Old Girls netball club gets underway at 7pm. Before that, there's the normal post-match get-together straight after Saturday's games >>>
