Clubrooms 'relocate' for Test weekend

All club members are invited to Latitude 41 bar at Queens Wharf this Saturday 30 July. The Hataitai clubrooms will be closed but, as is now traditional on Test weekend, they will 'relocate' to the waterfront. Members can enjoy catching up before and after the Springboks Test at the Stadium >>>


Colts semi-final at Evans Bay

MSP's colts have the main game at Evans Bay this Saturday, a semi-final against Wellington at 2.15pm. The colts are top qualifiers, but the Murray Mexted-coached Wellington side ran them close in their last encounter. With several senior and under-85 teams also heading for semis, there's plenty of rugby to support in the coming weeks >>>


Injuries and inexperience costly for premiers

Premier coach Clayton MacMillan says a terrible run of injuries plus inexperience in key positions proved costly for the premiers. But with its base of talented and enthusiastic players, MSP has the potential for some huge years ahead >>>


Clubrooms open during World Cup

MSP's clubrooms will be open on Saturdays during the World Cup for members and overseas visitors. There'll also be a special dinner for World Cup supporters on Friday 7 October. If you meet or are hosting any overseas visitors during the tournament, bring them along to the clubrooms to sample a real New Zealand rugby club >>>


Congratulations to Wellington rep selections

Congratulations to those MSP players selected for Wellington rep teams. Apoua Stewart, Jeff Allen, Victor Vito and Arden David are in the Wellington Lions, and Mere Tuala-Fata, Tia Paasi, Mel Roewen and Huia Paul are in the Wellington women's team, the Pride. MSP's senior 2 coach Damian Rapira-Davies will coach the Pride, while premier back coach John Duignan will again be assistant coach of the Wellington Development team. Congratulations to colts No 8 Paul Churchman, who has been nominated by the club for the NZ Marist colts team...
It's a big weekend for the St Pat's Town and St Pat's Silverstream first XVs as they square off in the premier 1 semi-finals. Top qualifiers Silverstream host the fourth-placed Town boys this Saturday 30 July at 2.30pm....
MSP and its founding clubs, Marist and St Pat's Old Boys, have produced 11 All Blacks. They are listed on the club's website which now links to profiles of each player....
The unbeaten under-85 Blues rattled up a 53-0 win in arctic conditions last week, so they're obviously good rugby players. But do they take good photos? Check out the under-85 Gallery....
Ex-All Black prop Richard Loe and commentator Keith Quinn are the guest speakers at the annual Shamrock Club dinner this Friday. Marist St Pats greatly appreciates the support of Shamrock Club members...
The next Junior Night at the clubrooms is Saturday 6 August, starting at 5pm. The club extends a warm welcome to all its under 8 and under 9 players, parents and supporters.
