Covid-19 Level 2 update - Friday 25 June

Club rugby will proceed under Level 2 restrictions this weekend, full information can be found on the Wellington Rugby website.

Summary:

  • There is a revised draw with some location and kick off time changes.

  • Spectators are asked to stay away from the games this weekend to enable grounds to maintain the 100 person limit.

  • Our Swindale Shield match against Petone will be livestreamed on our Facebook page, new kick off time is 3pm.

Wellington Rugby has issued the following guidance after the government announcement to move Wellington to Level 2 today:

Following the Government's announcement that Wellington will enter COVID Level Two from 6pm this evening we provide the below updates on the impact to Rugby locally. These centre on the requirement of bubble sizes no more than 100 and the need to achieve social distancing.

As these situations are often fluid this advice is based on the latest information. Any changes in requirements will be shared immediately.

  • It is our intention to play all grades of rugby this weekend but to achieve the required bubble sizes and social distancing its expected there will be a number of alterations, and some facilities unavailable. This may include matches being moved from Saturday to Friday night including the use of grass fields under lights for Junior rugby

What this means for Marist St Pats this weekend:

From a Marist St Pats perspective, 80s Night will be cancelled/postponed due to restrictions. Expect the clubrooms will likely be closed altogether.

To maintain the 100 person limit on grounds, spectators will be asked to stay away from the games this weekend - the forecasted rain might help with that! All intentions will be to livestream our Swindale Shield fixture against Petone so our supporters can follow the game from the comfort and safety of home.
