Premiers demolish Avalon on Friday night

After a tight game last week our Premiers have stretched their legs with a demolition of Avalon under lights on Friday night.

The first half was one-way traffic from the minute the whistle blew with eight tries scored before half time. The second stanza was much the same with seven more tries scored by the Red Machine. Final score: 92-14.

Avalon played with plenty of ticker and never gave up despite the ballooning scoreline, but ultimately the Wolves will be licking their wounds after the heavy loss.

Individual standouts were hard to pick out with the team dominant across the field, but it was great to see youngsters Sagele Aukusitino and Ofa Siale score their first Premier tries. On the other end of the spectrum, evergreen Fa'atonu Fili came off the bench and has now played Premier rugby in three decades!

The Premiers will expect a much tougher match next weekend when they travel to Hutt Rec to face Hutt Old Boys Marist.
