Meet some of the new faces in the playing ranks

Over the past few days on social media we've been profiling some of the new players who have joined Marist St Pats over the summer. Watch the videos below.

Introducing Matt Dobbyn

Among the young talent that has joined Marist St Pats over the summer is Matt Dobbyn. Matt is a member of the Wellington Rugby Academy having moved to the capital from Hamilton. He will reconnect with former Hamilton Boys High School teammate Tom Martin.

The versatile hooker was a member of the New Zealand Secondary Schools team in 2019 and will be studying Commerce at Victoria University.


Introducing Sagele Aukusitino

Sagele Aukusitino is a dynamic winger who has joined the club in his first year out of St Patrick's College.

His potential has already been recognised, having spent time with the Canberra Raiders over the summer, but right now he's relishing the opportunity to take the field his brother Sefo for Marist St Pats


Introducing Ryan Dafel

Originally from South Africa, loose forward Ryan Dafel has spent the past three years at Nelson Marist where he also represented Tasman Mako Under 20s.

He's made the move north to Wellington this summer and stayed in the Marist rugby brotherhood. His size and athleticism will be an asset to our loose forward contingent.
