On an afternoon where rugby was played in the worst conditions of the season our Premiers, Premier Reserves and Colts all kicked off their second round campaigns with bonus point wins.
The Colts went out to Porirua on Northern United's Old Timers Day and came away with a 31-10 win.
Back in the city the Premier Reserves wound back the clock with a veteran backline that included former Premier players JP Tocker, Jackson Martin and Johnny Gbenda-Charles. Buoyed by a dominant forward pack this side also had a big win, with lock James Zino scoring four tries!
Our Premiers played their first Hardham Cup match in 45 years against Paremata-Plimmerton in heavy rain at Evans Bay Park. We opened our account in the first two minutes with James Tuia scoring the first of his four tries. The play was largely controlled by MSP for the middle 60 minutes but Pare-Plim scored two late tries to bring the scoreboard to a more respectable 45-21.
