All teams in action as winter hits Wellington

On a cold Wellington day with a southerly blowing, all Marist St Pats teams were in action on Saturday.

The Premiers slipped on a banana skin at Hataitai Park losing to the Axemen 10-13. Failure to use the strong southerly in the first half and a lopsided penalty count will be among the things coaches will reflect on this week.

Earlier the Premier Reserves stayed unbeaten with a 57-5 win over the Axemen and the Colts continued their fine preseason form with a 53-6 win over Paremata-Plimmerton at Evans Bay.

Our Premier Women took on defending champions Norths at the Women's Gala Day to open their competition and had a tough loss 0-66. At the clubrooms later that evening the club presented our newly minted Black Ferns, Monica Tagoai and Marcelle Parkes, with photos that will hang alongside our All Blacks at the clubrooms.
