For the second time in three years our Premier Reserves have claimed the status as the best in their grade after going unbeaten in the Harper Lock Shield.
In their final game they came up against second placed Northern United with just two competition points separating the sides - so they had to win to claim the Shield. After a back and forth first half the side in which they led 21-17 at the break, they pulled away in the second to win 46-29 and take the spoils.
In the final round of the Swindale Shield, Northern United had everything to play for while momentum was all our side could look to gain. This showed in the first half as the home side simply blew us off the field and took a 0-45 lead into the break.
Our side regained some composure in the second half to add some kind of respectability to the scoreboard, outscoring their opponents 36-19 in the half - but ultimately losing 36-64 for Norths to claim the Swindale Shield. The Jubilee Cup draw will be released in the coming days.
Elsewhere the Under 85s had their first win of the season, 24-19 over Wests; the Internationals lost 19-28 to OBU. In a midweek match our Premier women lost to Petone.
