History was made on Saturday 22 June 2013. The Marist St Pats Premier team played the first Premier game of club rugby on the new St Patrick’s College artificial sports turf, playing neighbours Poneke. Marist St Pats won 23 – 6 (video).
However, Marist St Pat’s has still to complete the funding of the Club’s development contribution to St Patrick’s College.
Friends and supporters of Marist St Pats (individually, as a team, or as a business) are invited to become a part of Wellington’s sporting future by sponsoring one square metre of the turf through a donation of $1,000 for each square metre sponsored. Tax benefits are available for such donations.
Tax benefits are also available for smaller donations e.g. $100, $200, $500. Please make use of these as an individual can claim a tax credit for income tax purposes for cash donations of $5 or more made to the Marist St Pats Foundation. The overall maximum tax credit allowable is a sum equal to a third of the aggregate of all donations made by the individual, up to their annual taxable income.
A “living” donor board (photo below) was unveiled at the official opening of the field on 6 June. This commemorates supporters’ donations and includes family or supporter’s names. This is a great way of showing your support... and for recalling past on-field battles. And as it is a “living” board, names will be added as more square metre donations are received by the Marist St Pats Foundation.
The Trustees of the Marist St Pats Shamrock Foundation invite you to consider this opportunity.
