MSP's pre-season continued with a hit-out against Petone at a rock hard Norths Park on Saturday 16 March (see video highlights below).
Six 30-minute periods were played over the afternoon, beginning with the colts. Results varied from session to session as new combinations were tried. The coaches will have an interesting time making their final selections, particularly in the backs where several new and returning players have bolstered the club's depth.
While the North Park surface in Petone was hard, it at least had some grass cover from recent watering. Several specatators reported that the same afternoon in Upper Hutt, the Norths v Upper Hutt pre-season games were cancelled because the hard, dry state of the grounds presented too much of an injury risk.
MSP's final pre-season games are against Norths at Porirua Park on Saturday 23 March before the club season commences on Monday 1 April.
