'Beat the Budgie' promotion kicks off on 5 May
Paid-up club members can be in to win $500 on Past Players and Supporters' Day thanks to the generosity of MSP life member Paul 'Budgie' Jacobsen.
Saturday 5 May will see the first cash draw in the weekly 'Beat the Budgie' promotion which he is sponsoring. It will run every Saturday after that during the club season. To get your hands on Budgie's hard-earned, you have to:
- be in the clubrooms between 6pm and 8pm when Budgie will draw the weekly winner
- be a paid-up financial player or non-player.
If the prize isn't won, the $500 will jackpot by $100 every week, up to a total of $1000.
If the prize is won, it will re-start at $100 and jackpot again every week until won or until it hits the $1000 limit.
Membership cards will be distributed to all financial non-players and players by the end of April. Be sure to have your card on hand at the clubrooms.
Three teams - the under-85 Blues, under-85 Greens and senior 3s - are already fully paid-up. There's also been a steady stream of non-players' subs. If you haven't yet paid, you can do so either by:
- Internet banking. The club's bank account no. is ANZ 010505 - 0298113 - 00
(please include your name with the payment), or - Posting a cheque to Marist St Pats RFC, PO Box 3472, Wellington 6140.
So, pay your subs and get up to the clubrooms every Saturday to 'Beat the Budgie'!

- Standard $40.00
- Couple $50.00
- Out of Towner/Student/Senior Citizen/Junior Associate $25.00
