The Taylor family can lay claim to what is perhaps a unique achievement in Marist St Pat's - three generations have played for the club.
Simon Taylor (right in the picture) played for the newly formed club 1972, its first year, wearing the new green, blue and white "compromise colour jerseys".
Simon was then in his 30s and had earlier been in the old St Pat's Old Boys club before the merger with Marist. A halfback, he had played inside first-five Brian Frederickson "who always managed to catch my passes".
His son Todrick (left) has played many seasons for MSP from age-grade through to presidents, and there's even a rumour he might re-lace the boots this season.
The third generation family member to play for MSP, Simon's grandson Emerson, had several seasons with the club's juniors and is now at St Pat's College.
Three generations in the club's short 40-year history is quite an achievement!
