I was heading home from work on Wednesday night when I received an email from MSP announcing the winner of the April 500 Club Draw – congratulations to Maria Masina!
I was thrilled. Maria is one of the hardest-working people around, and she totally deserves the win. But that’s not actually why I’m writing this.
I got the email because I’m on the committee – and because my wife is a 500 Club member (and a past winner, I might add).
As I was thinking about how awesome it was that Maria won, I had a bit of a moment: Why am I not a member?
Seriously – how bad is that?
There’s really no good reason. It’s super easy to join, its great value, and the Club gives away $6,000 a year. I mean, who couldn’t use an extra $500 in their pocket?
It’s just $20 a month. That gets you into the monthly draw, and with fewer than 100 members currently in the Club, the odds are very much in your favour.
Plus – and this is a biggie – your membership covers your annual club subs. That means one less thing to think about each season.
So I emailed Henry Fidow (hfidow@sharp.net.nz), and he sent me the signup info. I’m jumping in tonight, so I don’t miss out on the May draw.
Now, I don’t want to ruin my odds or anything... but I reckon it’s time for more of us MSP faithful to get onboard.
