Rugby Remembers on ANZAC Day

Wellington's rugby clubs will commemorate the lives of those lost in war, particularly former players, administrators and supporters, with 'Derby Round' on ANZAC Day. There will be no rugby played before 1pm.

  • Premier Reserves play Hutt Old Boys Marist at Hutt Rec at 1pm
  • Premiers play Hutt Old Boys Marist at Hutt Rec at 2.30pm

On Anzac evening at approx 7pm at our Hataitai Clubrooms there will be a remembrance to mark the centenary of the 1915 Gallipoli campaign and those who died in World War One.

The Marist St Pats family would also like to recognize those Club players, coaches administrators and supporters who may have been involved, in some way, in a theatre of war (many of these will have connections with the Marist Old Boys RFC and the St Patrick’s College Old Boys RFC – the genesis of the now famous Marist St Pats RFC).

Records seem to be scarce for our Club. So the Club's Archives Sub-Committee are appealing for names, and any reflections, of those players, coaches administrators and supporters that would wish to be recognized.

If you know people who had a connection with Marist St Pats and may wish to be recognised please let the Club know. The Club's email address is: msprugby@xtra.co.nz
