Five MSP players gain U85 rep honours

MSP is well represented in a Wellington under-85kg Centurions squad that will play a New Zealand Barbarians U85 team on 31 March.

Five of the champion MSP Blues side that scooped division 1 last year are in the Wellington team: Blues captain and first five David Rice, prop Henry Fidow, hooker Matt Thomas, lock Sam Gundersen, and wing Jared Hammington.

It's the biggest representation from any Wellington club and would have been even greater if not for the unavailablity of several players.

The Barbarians have been chosen from U85 players in Auckland, North Harbour, and Waikato. They have already played a warm-up fixture against an Auckland club colts team so they will no doubt be well prepared.

The match is to be played on Saturday 31 March at 12pm on the Te Whaea artificial turf behind the Winter showbuildings. It promises to be a great game.
