Strong forwards continue to feed slick backs

Another strong performance from our forward pack again meant Peter Sciascia could unleash his classy backline in Saturday's 39-29 win over Petone.

The backs hit hard and they hit early, Fa'atonu Fili continued his sublime form again playing an integral part in a number of tries and at the 33rd minute mark MSP was leading 26-10 having already secured a four try bonus point.

After Petone scored early in the second half it looked like they might stage a serious comeback, but the Red Machine continued to build pressure on their line and were unlucky not cross a few times. Centre Cardiff Vaega ran in his second try of the match at the 70 minute mark to give his team a 36-17 lead and effectively seal the victory. To Petone's credit they never rolled over and ran in two late tries to narrow the scoreline.

This was another strong win for our side solidifying their second spot on the competition table with four rounds to play.
