Convincing win over Norths books Jubilee Cup spot

On Old Timers Day at Evans Bay, our Premiers earned their spot in the Jubliee Cup by way of a 43-24 win over Norths, consigning their opponents to their third straight year in the Hardham Cup.

Playing smart first half rugby, our side capitalised on a high penalty count to tick up the scoreboard for a 19-3 halftime lead.

Despite conceding an early second half try, they then put the foot down and scored tries in succession. Hooker Valentine Meachen scored a brace, to take his try count to five for the season.

Our final Swindale Shield match is against Upper Hutt Rams next Saturday at 2.30pm at Evans Bay Park.
