Premiers lead the Swindale Shield table after two rounds

Our Premiers played Avalon for the Joe Aspell Cup for the first time in a number of years and came up with another bonus try win.

Cleverly using the strong northerly in the first half, Avalon proved to be a well coached team that will challenge a number of teams in the 2015 Swindale Shield. After scoring two tries each, Avalon took a 15-10 lead into half time.

Basic errors cost the Red Machine the chance to really take the game by the throat in the second half, but tries to Valentine Meachen and French debutant Manu Quintane proved enough take the game.

Our Premiers and Premier Reserves play Poneke next Saturday at Kilbirnie Park.
