Final round to be repeated in Cup semi final

It was the proverbial game of two halves as our Premiers played Tawa in the final round of Jubilee Cup play at Evans Bay Park.

After three first half tries, the Red Machine led the match 21-7 at the half. But the Evans Bay faithful could see that the Tawa side that played the first half was not at the strength we've come to see in the past few years.

At the 45 minute mark that all changed as Tawa brought on their first choice forwards and talismanic halfback Steven So'oialo. From here Tawa stormed back into the game to take the lead with a number of quick tries and led 28-31 after 62 minutes.

But our boys dug deep and stuck at it before getting the breaks that allowed them to take the win. The result means that the exact fixture will repeat in next week's semi final.
