Premiers send Eagles to third straight Jubilee Cup loss

Our Premiers got their Jubilee Cup back on track with a win over the defending champions Hutt Old Boys Marist at Evans Bay on Saturday.

The game started well with an early penalty followed by a some Fa'atonu Fili magic to send blindside flanker Josh To'omaga over for a 10-0 lead. But the Eagles fought back to close the gap to 13-11 at the break for oranges.

Second half tries to returning NZ Sevens star Lote Raikabula and lock Nick Harrison stretched the lead to 27-11 midway through the second stanza. Another Hutt fight back saw the game end tight, but the Red Machine will take away four crucial competition points.

Premiers play OBU at the Basin Reserve next Saturday at 2.45pm
