Marist St Pats storm into Jubilee Cup Final

Our Premiers have beaten Oriental Rongotai 24-3 at Evans Bay Park to book a meeting with Tawa in next week's Jubilee Cup Final.

In a match played in dour conditions, the Red Machine played an effective '10 man game' to dominate play. The first half saw our side put together wave after wave of attack but Oriental Rongotai held firm in defence. It took 30 minutes for Marist attack to crack the Magpies line which eventually came after a strong scrum set the platform for winger Ryan Setefano to narrowly dot down. To the relief of the Evans Bay faithful the home side took a 8-0 lead into the break.

The second half continued in much the same fashion. An early second half penalty to Fa'atonu Fili extended the lead but it was the clinical forward performance that eventually wore down the opposition defence and allowed another two tries to win the game.

The Marist St Pats performance was one that will have made their coaches proud and the side will end the season unbeaten at home.

Next week the side will travel to Jerry Collins Stadium (ex Porirua Park) to contest the final for the second straight year. The club will look forward to your support as the team looks to bring the cup home.

Colts come from behind to snatch another thrilling win

In an earlier match played at Redwood Park, our Colts pulled off another Houdini act after coming from 0-17 down to win 19-17!

This result has shades of another dramatic come-from-behind win a few weeks ago against Oriental Rongotai.

In a twist of fate, the side will contest next weekend's semi final again against Tawa!
