Valentine Meachen named Sportsman of the Year

The club came together last night to celebrate the achievements of players and administrators for their efforts on and off the field this season.

Chairman Mike Hansen acknowledged the players for their contributions on another fine season that saw our Premiers, Premier Reserves along with our Men's and Women's Sevens teams win significant silverware.

He also made a concerted effort to thank the large number of volunteers saying that it's their dedication and effort that keeps Marist St Pats as the best club in Wellington year in and year out.

In the major club awards it was Valentine Meachen who was named Sportsman of the Year after an outstanding season that has seen him play for Samoa A and be named in the Wellington Lions squad.

The Most Outstanding Club Member was Paul Churchman who has made an immense contribution to the club this year, not only in his role as Premier Reserve captain but in the role of Club Treasurer.

The Premier Reserves were named Team of the Year in an award that acknowledges not only on field performance, but their contributions to the clubs spirit and values.

Congratulations to all who were recognised last night, but equally to everyone that that has contributed to the 2016 season!
