Red Machine primed for 2015 season

Swindale Shield and Harper Lock Shield action starts this weekend at Trentham Memorial Park with our Premiers and Premier Reserves kicking off their 2015 campaigns. All other grades are set to start on 11 April.

Last season our Premier team won the Swindale Shield and our Senior 1s played in the Hardham Cup, so with the bulk of last year’s senior players returning there are strong foundations laid for this season. We have also seen a big intake of overseas players along with school leavers from a diverse range of Colleges. Marist St Pats has registered a pleasing number of 51 players new to the club with a sprinkling of new players from England, France and Samoa (a number are pictured below at a preseason game at Tawa a few weeks ago).

The Evans Bay faithful will be pleased to see 2012 Jubilee Cup winning captain Arden David-Perrot and experienced outside back Julian Tupai return after a couple of seasons away.

If the vibe around training is anything to go by, the 2015 Premier and Premier Reserve teams are primed for an exciting and competitive season! We look forward to your support on Saturday at Trentham Memorial Park, our Premiers kick off at 2.30pm followed by the Premier Reserves at 4.15pm.
