Coaches appointed for upcoming season

Following the reappointment of our Premier coaches Brendan Reidy and Ross Bond, Marist St Pats is pleased to announce more of the coaches that will guide our teams through the 2015 season.

Our Premier Reserves (formerly Senior 1) will be coached by Damian Rapira-Davies. He brings with him a wealth of experience from previous coaching roles which have included the St Patrick's College 1st XV and the Wellington Women's representative team to name a couple. A great club man, he will look to continue to build the depth in a side that played in the Hardham Cup last season.

Pio Savali and Jamie Parkinson will coach our First Grade (formerly Senior 2) team. This team holds great importance to the depth of our senior grades and players will enjoy working with Pio who returns as the coach from 2014. He will be joined this year by Marist St Pats Centurion and former Samoan international Jamie Parkinson. Jamie's intimate understanding of what goes on in the engine room will no doubt benefit players across the grades and add to Marist St Pats' reputation as the place to play if you want to develop as a front-row player.

Our Colts are looking strong this year and will have the advantage of working with our RDO Kas Leleamanua and club stalwart John Spillane. Kas will need no introduction to the up-and-comers in this grade given his extensive work with emerging players at St Pat's and around the Eastern Suburbs. John returns to the coaching ranks where he will not only add value on the field, but also provide a great introduction for young players to Marist St Pats. He has held almost every role in the club, from coach and manager to Chairman of the board.

After a couple of seasons in an amalgamated side, our Women's team is looking to launch back into the grade strongly and independently. They will be led by newcomer Ben Scully and women's team stalwart Michelle Smyth. Early signs are looking very promising for this team with good player turnouts at offseason and preseason training.

With less than 60 days until the kick off of senior rugby on 21 March the brains trust is working hard to ensure another successful season at the home of the Red Machine. We look forward to your support in 2015.
