Annual Report available to download
MSP chairman Rob Evans describes 2014 as a 'rollercoaster' in his review for this year's annual report. He describes this noting 'the euphoria of winning championship’s; the season ending injuries, to the dawn of a new breed of player; the sad passing of some great people of our Club...'.
The report is now available to be downloaded ahead of he AGM on 27 November. Rob goes on to thank players, coaches, management, sponsors and supporters for the time they dedicate to the benefit of the club.
He also acknowledges 'worrying signs of a game at community level that is shrinking at an alarming rate' and suggests there needs to be more focus on attracting all players - not just elite players.
'The single minded focus on the elite and professional game by the unions that govern and run our great game is completely ignoring the values and traditions that actually invited and enticed us to play the game in the first place - friendships, camaraderie, hard work and fun.'
The annual report includes reports from the president, treasurer, club captain, the House committee, the Shamrock Club and the Junior Club. All the club's representative players are listed, as are trophy winners, club members and coaches and managers, and each team has provided a team report.
