Victor and Jeff named in Wellington Lions team

It's that time of the year when Representative squads are being named and Marist St Pats' two Hurricanes Victor Vito and Jeff To'omaga-Allen have been named in the 2013 Wellington Lions ITM Cup squad. MSP captain Peter Sciascia and flanker Isaac O'Connor will feature in the Wellington Development XV.

Victor and Jeff are likely to play a big part in Chris Boyd's plans after both enjoying strong seasons of Super Rugby. One could also expect Victor to feature with the captain's armband with incumbent skipper Jeremy Thrush involved with the All Blacks.

Jeff will be looking forward to getting back on the park after suffering a tear to his medial ligament in round 14 of Super Rugby - a massive blow having been named in the All Blacks wider training group just days before.

We look forward to seeing both players showcase their talent against the rest of the country.

Unlucky to miss out on the Lions squad, Peter and Isaac will look to impress for the Development side. The ITM Cup has a tight schedule and injuries can mean Development players get the call up.

Peter is no stranger to this side having been involved in previous years; with only two halfbacks named in the Lions squad - one being new All Black TJ Perenara - one could suspect he has a good chance of getting a run for the Lions.

Isaac was a standout at openside flanker for the Red Machine this season and will relish the opportunity to be involved in representative rugby.

Good luck to both players as their season gets underway.

Wellington's ITM Cup campaign starts on Thursday against Counties in Pukekohe.

Wellington Development XV will play Taranaki Development at Petone on Saturday at 1pm.
