Premier coaches reappointed for 2014

Marist St Pats is delighted to announce the reappointment of Brendan Reidy and Ross Bond as coaches of the Premier team for 2014 recognizing the value of their vast rugby experience. We are also pleased to confirm that Mike Berry will continue with the Premier team as Team Manager.

Despite a year that started with the retirement and relocation of a number of players, and was then plagued with injuries, the young Premier side managed to be just one competition point off the Jubilee Cup semi finals. Brendan notes that 'it was a tough year across the teams but we've got a really good base that we're both really excited to build on for next season'.

Rugby sub-committee chairman John Spillane says that this announcement comes at a very exciting period for the club with a new Club Coaching Coordinator appointment imminent and this high quality pair returning to guide the Club's premier side.

He is also very confident that we will shortly be able to announce an outstanding coaching combination for the Senior 1 side, which will set us up well for the future.

John believes 'making these appointments early really does give the coaches the best possible chance of developing the squads through the off season with a strong emphasis on retaining the players who played so strongly this year and recruiting others into the club. The coaching team can then work with their players to ensure we have a team presented in optimum condition heading into 2014.'

The Red Machine is ready to roll into 2014 with force!
