Video highlights of MSP Plate Final win

MSP's top sevens side won the Plate final of the NZ Marist sevens tournament at Evans Bay on 2 February, running away with a comfortable 34-14 win over Marist St Michaels from Rotorua.

After a big win over Nelson Marist and a draw with the Hoani McDonald-coached Invercargill Marist side on Friday, MSP looked the team to beat. But they were undone by a composite North Island Marist side that included MSP players Pete Sciascia, Corey Lawrence and Jack Taulapapa.

That sent MSP to the Plate Final where Andrew Wells, who was named in the NZ Marist sevens team, Andy Ellis, Ryan Setefano and Sam Sturgiss ran in some smart tries. The team is coached by Pio Savali and managed by John Poutawera.

The NI Marist side went on to lose in the semis to eventual Cup winners Ardmore Marist - see the NZ Marist site for details.
