Work on Evans Bay artificial surface progressing well
The run of fine weather in late January is allowing rapid progress on the new artificial sportsfield being developed behind St Pat's College in Kilbirnie.
The field will sit tucked between the college and the Evans Bay Intermediate ground, with the MSP gym at one end and Cobham Drive at the other. Two warm-up areas will be situated on the college side of the ground.
The city council is funding half of the $1.6 million project, with the college and MSP providing the remainder. The sportsfield will provide a huge boost in the training and playing resources of MSP, the college and the wider community. Weather permitting, it is expected to be ready in time for 2013 winter codes.
