Best wishes to Dane Coles on All Black selection

Best wishes to Poneke hooker Dane Coles on his selection in the All Blacks for the end-of-the-year tour to Europe and the UK.

Dane played his first two years of senior club rugby at MSP, fresh out of Wellington College. His uncle, Matt Calvert, had both played in and coached Jubilee Cup-winning MSP teams.

In 2005, Dane played for MSP's senior 1s and was the team's MVP. He was also selected for the NZ under-19s.

The following year, he was in the premiers but spent a lot of time either playing loose forward or on the bench behind regular hooker Ged Robinson. Dane was told that to get further in rugby, he would need regular game time so in 2007 he moved across the road to the red and blacks.

MSP and the Wellington rugby community wish him all the best for a long and successful All Black career.
