Solomona in champion under-20 side

Solomona Sakalia has joined his good friend and fellow MSP prop Jeff Allan in being part of a winning New Zealand team in an IRB Junior World Championship final.

'Mona's Junior All Blacks defeated England 33-22 this morning in Italy to wrap up a fourth consecutive title. Well done Mona and congratulations to the entire team. The win was New Zealand's 20th consecutive victory in the tournament, in which they have never lost a game.

You can send Solomona a congratulatory message on ssakalia@gmail.com, and here's a match report of the final.

MSP's other under-20 international, Paul Tuia, also enjoyed success with his Samoan team winning the IRB tournament for second-tier rugby nations held in Georgia. Samoa scored an injury-time try to defeat Japan 31-24 in the final on 5 June.

The win means the Samoan team will be back among the big guns for the 2012 tournament in South Africa. The team was coached by former All Black and MSP player John Schuster.

Paul, who played halfback in the tournament, was back on the park for MSP last Saturday, playing at centre and scoring a try against Wainui.
