NZ Marist edge out Heartland XV

NZ Marist pipped a Heartland XV 15-14 at Pukekohe on Saturday 15 October, the third year in a row that Marist have beaten the side chosen from the Meads and Lochore Cup competitions.

MSP prop Arden David represented the club in the NZ Marist side and Brendan Reidy was the assistant coach. The head coach was Daryl Suasua, who has won two World Cups coaching the Black Ferns. A match report is on the All Blacks website.

MSP also had two junior players, Xavier English and Maletina Brown, in a North Island Marist under-13 team that overwhelmed South Island Marist under-13s 75-5 in the morning game.
