'Da Manu' set new style standards for Shamrock golfers

Former MSP secretary Ken Ah Kuoi had a great time at the Shamrock Club's annual golf tournament at Miramar on 29 September.Shamrock Club golfers

On a glorious Wellington day, Ken's 'Da Manu' team set a new benchmark for MSP style in collecting the 'best dressed team' award -  (from left): Tealu Molesi (the CEO of Samoa Capital Radio), longstanding MSP coach Gus Slade, Petelo Sagato and Ken.

The team are shown holding their prizes, with Ken particularly pleased with his bottle of gin. 'It was a great venue and great food,' he says, a tribute to Alan Woods' skill in barbecuing sausages.

Ken, a Shamrock Club member, rated Murray Tocker as the stand-out golfer, Jamie Parkinson the most promising up and comer, and 'Mouse' Jensen the most entertaining player.

All teams win prizes, says Peter Woods, who organises event along with Terry McCarthy. Over 70 golfers took part, with Mike Quinlan's MQ's Panel and Paint team heading the field in the Ambrose format event.
