Internationals win first round

The Internationals have completed their first round unbeaten to win the Reserve Grade, Division 2 first round title. They did so without even taking the field after the OBU 'Teddy Bears' defaulted.

At Evans Bay Park, our Premiers lost an arm wrestle with defending Swindale Shield holders Paremata-Plimmerton. The game was tight throughout with the teams tied at 25-25 with ten minutes to play before two late penalties saw the Hammerheads take the win by 25-31.

Earlier on Evans Bay, the Colts continued their great form with a 38-21 win over Paremata-Plimmerton. They now sit second in the Paris Memorial Trophy competition.

Over the road at Kilbirnie Park, the Premier Reserves were right in it until the final 20 minutes, going down to Paremata-Plimmerton by 29-37. Later, the Under 85s lost to Paremata-Plimmerton by 12-35.

No result for the Presidents at time of publishing.

On the Netball courts, our #1 team beat NCOG 2 by 42-26; our #2 team went down to Ories 3 by 16-33.

Most grades have King's Birthday weekend off, but our Premier and Premier Reserve teams will head over the road to play Poneke. The J6/Reserve 3 Reunion is on over the long weekend with the clubrooms open to all supporters on Friday and Saturday night.
