Premiers come up short at Petone

Our Premiers have come up short in their Swindale Shield match against Petone, going down by 31-37.

In a game that was close for most of the match before Petone took a larger second half lead, a try on full time saw the team take home two valuable competition points with three rounds to play.

Earlier at Petone Rec, our Premier Reserves (pictured below) earned a confidence boosting win over a Petone side who were placed second going into the round. Injuries have made for a tough season for the team thus far, so it was great to see them get a big win. They led for most of the match until Petone scored with about 10 minutes to play; a try on full time to Fionn Gilbert took the lead back and won the match.

The Colts went down to Petone by 10-43. In the city, the Internationals stayed unbeaten after beating Paremata-Plimmerton by 58-22. No result for the Presidents at time of publication; the Under 85s had a bye.

On the netball courts, Netball 1 beat QMC 2 by 40-21 while Netball 2 tied with SMOG 10 at 33-33.
