Premiers, Premier Reserves advance

On the occasion of Nick Harrison's 100th Premier match, our Premiers have beaten Wellington to advance to the Hardham Cup semi finals.

The team jumped out to a 22-0 half time lead on the back of four first half tries to Viliame Saukuru who terrorised the Wellington defence, popping up out of seemingly nowhere to snatch the ball and find the try line.

Wellington scored early in the second to ensure the game remained competitive but another four second half tries were enough to take the game. Final score 42-24 with Marist St Pats advancing to the Hardham Cup semi finals where we will host Wainuiomata.

Earlier on Evans Bay Park, the Premier Reserves fought out a tight encounter with Avalon, coming away with a 24-17 win. They will host a HD Morgan Memorial Trophy semi final next week.

At Rugby League Park, our Colts fought valiantly against Old Boys-University. They came from 0-17 down to close the gap to 12-17 but couldn't get over the line for the win. The loss concludes their season which introduced a number of new players to the club and some solid foundations for 2025.

The Internationals celebrated significant player milestones with Pena Fretton (250), Nathan Simpson (200), Mike Bridges (100) and Alex Baylis (50) all reaching notable games played for the side. They continued their unbeaten season with a 24-17 win over Upper Hutt Rams.

The Under 85s finished their season with a close 17-20 loss to Wellington in their semi final.

The Presidents had a bye and the Netball teams had the weekend off for school holidays.
