Easter miracle at Ngati Toa Domain

Our Premier Men completed an improbable comeback to beat Paremata-Plimmerton for a perfect afternoon at Ngati Toa Domain on Easter Saturday.

Earlier, the Premier Women, Premier 2 Men and Colts had all recorded victories over the Hammerheads.

With 15 minutes to play, the odds were stacked against the Red Machine as they faced a 17-34 deficit. The scoreboard didn't necessarily reflect what had been a close game, but the home side had punished errors and lapses in concentration.

For the second week in a row, a comeback was mounted by the young team. Four tries were scored in the final 15 minutes; the first three to Francis Mettrick and rookies Max Reynolds and Broch McCallum. The match winning try was scored by first year hooker Cazna Sale, right on full time, to the jubilation of the team and the supporters who had turned out in big numbers on a balmy April afternoon.
