At this years Annual General Meeting, Marist St Pats bestowed Life Membership honours to Henry Fidow and Pat Dunn.
This is the nomination read by Luke Meredith endorsing Pat.
Pat Dunn is a name well known to many at Marist St Pats Rugby Football Club and in the wider circles of the Wellington Rugby community.
Pat is one of the very special people at MSP that has played at senior and representative level and followed on into club committee and coaching roles.
You cannot miss the 6’5’’ Samoan lock at any of the rugby fixtures and events. His booming voice from the side-lines can be heard at Premier to U21 games and inspires players or can be a curse to the opposition and Referees!
His culture, passion and love of both MSP and the game of rugby has endeared him so many people as is the impressive contribution he has made.
Pat played 187 premier matches as lock for MSP, was a winning team member of 4 x Jubilee Cups and 5 x Swindale Sheilds, was a Wgtn A rep, a NZ Marist rep, and was awarded MSP Sportsman of the year.
Like his rugby Pat thrust his energy into the MSP club environment becoming the MSP Junior Club Convenor and was awarded MSP Outstanding Club Member for his tireless work.
He has also been a passionate coach and manager both at St Pats college and the MSP u21 team passing on his experience and skills
Over the years he has volunteered his time and honoured at being nominated as MSP Club Captain, MSP President and as a MSP Committee Member.
The support from his wife Catherine, daughter Eliza and son Jacob currently playing in the MSP Premier team have been instrumental in what Pat has achieved for the club.
It is with these attributes and continued work with the club that I have great pleasure in nominating Patrick Dunn as a Life Member of Marist St Pats Rugby Football Club.
